While listening to a podcast and literally shoveling shit out of my barn, I heard a life coach talking about how she chooses to show her strong, confident, bold, and positive self to the world. She chooses to go all out with her confident self and her life has changed because of it. Her words have changed many lives as well. It was refreshing to hear someone speak so boldly and confidently. She talked about how women, and especially women of color, carry a legacy of being taught to be quiet and disappear, or if they try to be bold they just try to copy someone else that has been successful like Oprah or Beyonce instead of following their own path. It was a great message, but the thought that went through my mind after listening to her was that I have the power to drop these self-sabotaging negative thoughts that I’ve been holding on to and amplifying since I lost my job last summer. I have truly let it do a number on my self-confidence. I let a business decision that was completely out of my control negatively change me. I have been showing up to you and others as this reserved and less confident self, but today it’s time to change that!
So I have decided to LET THAT SHIT GO! Every time I catch myself thinking a negative thought or believing that I am less than magical, I will immediately stop and correct myself. I know I am awesome. I know I have talent. I am not defined by my employer. I decide how I feel about myself. I choose to show my bold, confident, and positive self to the world. I will not allow myself to shrink. I will not allow myself to hide. I am expanding and creating and attracting all the good into my life. I will fill my thoughts with positivity and abundance. I have the power to choose my own thoughts. You have this power as well.
What are you ready to let go of? Do you have some thoughts rolling around in your head that no longer serve you? Are you showing the best version of yourself to the world? Did someone or something cause you to shrink how you feel about yourself and how you present yourself to others? Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to shine. The world needs more light. The world needs YOUR light.
