Don’t Rain on My Parade

Haters gonna hate. Change scares people. Envy and jealousy run rampant in our culture. Have you ever noticed that as soon as you tell people that you are starting a new diet or exercise plan that there are always a handful or people there to say- “oh, that doesn’t work, or good luck sticking to that”?

We call those people the haters. They are gonna hate anything you do to improve yourself. They are the people so stuck in their dead-end lives that they have given up any dream of changing their own life for the better. By tearing down your dream, they attempt to keep you right at their level so it makes it more comfortable for them to remain there. Do you recognize a few haters in your own life? Are your big dreams triggering people to notice the flaws in their own lives?

Never let the comments of small-minded people dull your shine. Surround yourself with cheerleaders instead of haters. Choose to spend your time with those that lift you up instead of break you down. I realize that sometimes the haters are members of your own family and that can be hard. So balance out that negativity by spending more time with others who lift you up. Sometimes you might need to find an online community or a coach to keep you going if the day-to-day people around you are not supportive. But most of all, never stop improving. The people that can’t keep up with your high vibration will eventually fall off, or better yet, your progress will inspire them to lift themselves up as well!

It’s easier for people to question something new than to embrace it. Your light might trigger others to see how they have stopped shining. Use those that question you as a motivation to keep going! It’s a sign that you are doing something so great that it makes others a little uncomfortable with their own predictable lives. Spend more time with the cheerleaders than the haters. Be a cheerleader for others. The more that we lift each other up, the better our whole society becomes. Trust me, there are people out there that want you to succeed at any goal you set; just keep looking for them and you will find them.
